We have been very busy in the P6/7 classroom as we were celebrating coding week. As a class we looked at what coding is, how it is used and what devices use it in school and at home. Linking to our class topic of Titanic, the children began their week by focussing on Morse Code as a method of communication at the time of the Titanic. We had great fun trying to work out hidden morse code clues and then create our own for each other to guess.
We also had opportunities this week to get our devices out and do a bit of coding using the J2E software using coding blocks to move a range of characters and give them instructions. If something didn’t go as planned, the children were busy debugging to solve the problem!
